CVS Coupon Adventure! March 2, 2012

So I absolutely loved going to CVS. Thankfully I had a pretty cool cashier. I was also trying to explain to a friend what I was doing and what should have happened. The cashier was helping with explaining things, which made it even more fun.

I did a decent haul. There was a savings of $21.00. And I payed about $2.00 OOP because of taxes. But it was well worth it.

I bought the Therma Care Heat Wrap, I had four Mentos UP2U gums, Colgate Optic White, and the Schick Hydro 5 razor (the store I went to said they were still a little behind when it came to newer products.). I had coupons for everything except the ThermaCare and a $5.00 ECB when I went into the store.

That is what I purchased just wanted to blog about it. It gets to your head a little when you can save loads and only really have to pay taxes. Also I received a $4 ECB, $1 ECB, and $3.79 ECB.

Back in Action

It has been a while since I have been on my computer, much less been on long enough to blog! But I plan on getting back into this a little more, time permitting. Life takes its turn and you get slung every which way on a whim.

My Main Point

As I finally got sat down to pour me some cereal for a quick breakfast this morning, I became so excited about the simplest thing. I decided I needed to share this excitement.

This is the Rubbermaid Flex&Seal. It holds cereal, although I am sure you can put other things in it! I have only had this for about a week, and I have used it a few times.  It really is a good investment. You just pour your cereal in the container and put the lid back on. There is a smaller lid to open and close on top of the lid. It really makes pouring cereal sooo  much easier. You can open it and hold it with one hand (*great for those ‘hands always full’ moms!) It has a nice indention to better grip the container.  I really find it to be amazing.

In no way am I (currently) a product tester. I am only trying to inform about something that, personally, makes my mornings loads simpler when it comes to storing and pouring cereal.

Trying to Find What I Enjoy

It is hard, sometimes, to find things that I enjoy. And the one thing that everyone is really looking for is support from the people they love. It is particularly important to me for some reason. I love lots of things, and really enjoy getting excited about doing something new. However, I am that person that if I don’t have any support I quickly give up. I often end up talking myself out of things that would be very beneficial. And I largely regret these decisions later.

What can I do to put these types of obstacles onto a lower notch in my priorities belt?  I think for me it all has to do with self-esteem and getting over my embarrassment. Having two kids has brought me out of my ‘shell’ very much over the past six years.  I can now be places and act crazy with my kids and be like, ” oh you have a problem with this, F*** you” with a huge grin on my face. This is because my kids deserve to learn that they do not have to hide who they are from those unaccepting people. I do not want them to miss out on the opportunities to have fun in life.

I am finding myself, with or without the support factor. I want to be a more fun person for myself and for my children! I enjoy baking, decorating, cooking, and my newest hobby is about to be (yes, I really am going to say this)– COUPONING! I want that thrill that I have already had a tiny taste of, except i want that times ten or twenty or even 100!!!! Whew. And it feels good to say it.

So from now on, whenever I have a strong excitement for something, I will follow through! I will blog about it! And I will enjoy every minute of it no matter who sees or disapproves.

Fresh or Rotten? February 3, 2012

Egg Egg Egg Egg

Testing your Eggs for  Freshness

Ever wonder about how you are supposed to tell if those eggs you got from that family member or friend are really still good?  Well it only takes three items and a few minutes of observation to find out.

  1. Gather your egg, a bowl, and about six inches of water.
  2. Once you have those items, put the water in the bowl. Then you can place the egg inside the bowl of water.
  3. Finally, observe what happens with the egg. Does it float completely? If so, then, you have a rotten egg. Throw it out.  Oxygen builds inside of the eggs as they age, causing them to spoil. So if your egg is standing up, don’t worry. You still have a fresh egg that is a few weeks old and can still be used.

Best Six Yr Old Ever!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — mysteriousbeyonder @ 2:43 am

Man, oh Man! I really have the greatest kids. Especially the boy. Mind you I got a lucky break and was able to raise him first, so he got loads of first time mommie love and attention. And he is such a wonderful boy. School on the other hand is getting to his manners and senses apparently.

Anyways, back on topic :)

My son can be a load sometimes, but we love each other, so we are always trying to help each other out. When I was trying to just sit for a bit today, he went to the kitchen sink and was in the water. Okay, I think, what the hell is he getting into – a boy & a six yr old = disaster most of the time, right?  Wrong (atleast this time.)

I love this kid! He stands on the cabinet and is ‘washing’ dishes. He tells me that he just had to wash some spoons that were in the sink. Then he makes the comment,”You won’t ever have to wash dishes again, Momma, cuz I can wash them for you everyday when i get in from school.” How freaking awesome is my kid!

He always helps around the house, he helps with his little sister (of whom he is absolutely beaming with pride he has to call his), he excels in school for a kid. He really is the perfect child, and deserves the best kid ever! award.

That is my story that I wanted to share for the day. Who else has totally amazing kids?

Why have a stockpile?

Stockpiling is a wonderful ideas for individuals everywhere. No one knows what will happen today or tomorrow to impact our lives. But one thing is certain, you need things like food and water to survive. If you create a stockpile, then you are making a wise investment for your future as well as your family’s future. You can have things that you will need in times of crisis. Or you will just have extra things in your home for a while, so that you don’t have to make so many trips to the store or spend quite as much money when you go. Once you get your stockpile up, then you only have to fork out your hard-earned cash for those things that are absolutely necessary. This is also a great way to help you start on a budget and to have the extra cash to put back into an account for rough times.

What should I stockpile?

Okay, so those health nuts out there are going to faint and rant and rave when they read my list and yes I do feed my kids whatever they will eat, but that is their opinion and everyone eats differently. So to start off with, you should get a stock on things that usually add up and you only purchase one or twice a year. Next work from there and get more stocked up according to how often you buy it. If you calculate the amount of items you buy in a year, then you can estimate the amount of things you will need in your stockpile to cut down on your grocery/household bill.

Below is a list of things that I plan to stockpile for my home over the year:

  • Household –     laundry detergent, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, bar soap, degreaser, cleaners, bleach, dishwashing liquid, light bulbs, garbage bags, air fresheners.
  • Grocery-   boxed goods, canned goods, sauces, chips, cookies, dips, snacks (both healthy and non lol!), Drinks and drink mixes, meats and frozen goodies, cereals, seasonings, and other goods. **I made this list as I was typing and haven’t really exacted the final draft of my list I am making on paper, but you get the idea**

When you need a lift

”In the practice of tolerance, one’s enemy is the best teacher.” –  Dalai Lama

Know your enemies and learn from them! When they decide to strike, you will already know what is coming for you since you have become their student.
