Testing your Eggs for Freshness
Ever wonder about how you are supposed to tell if those eggs you got from that family member or friend are really still good? Well it only takes three items and a few minutes of observation to find out.
- Gather your egg, a bowl, and about six inches of water.
- Once you have those items, put the water in the bowl. Then you can place the egg inside the bowl of water.
- Finally, observe what happens with the egg. Does it float completely? If so, then, you have a rotten egg. Throw it out. Oxygen builds inside of the eggs as they age, causing them to spoil. So if your egg is standing up, don’t worry. You still have a fresh egg that is a few weeks old and can still be used.
